School Programs


The Grand Forks Police Department maintains an ongoing relationship with the Grand Forks Schools. We teach a variety of programs to the students which include:
  • Eddie the Eagle: This program is taught to 3rd graders. The program educates children on what to do if they find an unsecured firearm. For more information E-mail Corporal LaVonne Nelson or call 787-8080.
  • G.R.E.A.T.: This program is taught to 7th graders. G.R.E.A.T. is a violence prevention curriculum that teaches students important skills to help them avoid gangs, violence, drug abuse, and crime. For more information call Corporal Dalee Wilkinson at 740-6731.
  • Fatal Vision: This program is taught to students from grades 9 through 12. The program is designed to inform students on the dangers of alcohol use and driving. For more information E-mail Corporal Dan Braaten or call 787-8082.

  • Winning Decisions: This program is taught to 5th graders. The program deals with Influences & Consequences, Respecting Others & Their Property, Healthy Relationships, Cyber Safety, Tobacco - Alcohol & Drugs. For more information E-mail Cpl. Brian Cofer or call 787-8081.
