Human Resources is located in the City Hall building at 255 N. 4th St. Use the public entrance and take the elevator up to 2A.

You are also able to register to receive email notifications when we post a new employment opportunity by going to our website http://grandforksgov.com/, next, move your cursor over I WANT TO... in the upper right hand corner, under Sign up for..., click on E-mails from the City, type in your information at the top, scroll down to Job Posts and click on those that you are interested in, scroll down to the bottom and enter in the encryption phrase and click submit. You will then receive a confirmation email from the City within a few minutes.

A paper copy of the job available along with an application can be picked up at the Human Resource Department in City Hall.

You can pick up an application at the Human Resources Department or print one off of our website and return the completed application to Human Resources or email us your application.
What is the process once I have applied for a position?
All positions have a closing date, once the date of close we then review all applications. Depending on the position advertised, we may have further applicant testing or screen applications using a matrix. Once all interview criteria are met we then select the top candidates to interview and contact them via telephone and mail. Once all applicants are scheduled for an interview we then mail all candidates a letter notifying them of their status. A selection process could take up to 30 days.
Police and Fire positions have an extended selection process that includes additional pre-employment requirements, please contact Human Resources for further information.
Do you do background checks and drug screenings?
Yes, both are contingencies for employment with the City of Grand Forks. The City also requires that each employee complete a physical assessment prior to their start date. Police and Fire related job opportunities will have additional pre-employment requirements such as additional testing and background screening measures.
