Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Be able to work in team environment
  • Basic computer and typing skills necessary for successful job performance
  • Ability to learn modern radio communication and dispatch methods
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks under stressful situations

Training:

  • New dispatchers
  • We have an intense 4-6 month training program
  • Broken down into 4 Phases
  • Progressive Training with Remedial if needed

 

Continuing Education:

  • Dispatchers are given opportunities throughout the year for training in all areas of emergency services
  • Cross-training throughout the center is utilized so all dispatchers have well rounded knowledge of our systems
  • All dispatchers maintain licensing requirements including CPR and EMD
