Special Events Grant Program
Every year the city allocates funds to help various public events that are offered throughout Grand Forks. The Special Events program was developed to assist groups in providing support for events which:
- Promote Grand Forks as an entertainment, recreation, and tourism center
- Attract visitors from outside the community and region
In 2016, the final report of the Arts & Events group of the Mayor's Vibrancy Initiative recommended the administration of the Special Events Grant Program become the responsibility of the Greater Grand Forks Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB). This was determined to be a much more strategic method of allocating these valuable resources.The CVB has since incorporated this program into its existing Events Funding Program.
