Trails

The over 20 miles of multi-use paved trails in the Greenway provide ample opportunity to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Red and Red Lake Rivers.    Hiking, biking, rollerblading and more await the summertime visitor.  Wintertime provides the opportunity for groomed cross-country ski and snowmobile trails.

Parks

A number of parks exist within the Greenway. These parks offer a variety of amenities such as access to the trail system, basketball and volleyball courts, softball diamonds, ice-skating and hockey rinks, cross-country ski trails, and picnic shelters. More details of specific recreational facilities can be found on the Greenway map or Greenway User Guide.

Golf

The natural setting offered by the Greenway provides a scenic backdrop for golf. It is no surprise that two area courses are located adjacent to the Red River. The Lincoln Golf course, established in 1909 and one of North Dakotas oldest golf courses, underwent changes with the construction of the permanent levee, offering a new look to a historic course. The course was reopened in 2004 as a nine hole course.  Valley Golf Course was also redesigned to accommodate the flood protection system and now offers a beautiful 18 hole course and driving range.  Both courses are open to the public.

Dog Park

Even dogs love the Greenway!  Stop by the Grand Cities’ first ever off-leash dog park in Lincoln Drive Park, located on Lincoln Drive off Belmont Road and 13th Avenue South.  This park offers dog owners a safe, legal opportunity to exercise their pet off leash with the city limits.

Fishing

The Red and Red Lake Rivers boast over 70 species of native fish, and world class channel cat fishing. Four boat ramps provide great access to the water for boaters and ample shore-bank fishing sites mean the exhilaration of a big catch on the Red can now be enjoyed by the professional and amateur angler alike.

Camping

The Greenway features a new campground located along the Red River in East Grand Forks.  This campground boasts 72 seasonal campsites, including 48 electric sites with full hookups (sewer and water). Campers have plenty of access to multi-purpose trails for walking and biking, picnic areas as well as two rivers for fishing and boating. The campgrounds setting in an urban area offers visitors access to outdoor recreational opportunities as well as shopping and dining facilities within walking distance.

Canoeing and Kayaking

The easy flowing Red and Red Lake Rivers provide the perfect opportunity for a canoeing or kayaking excursion. Bordering the rivers, the Greenway offers improved access for water related activities.
