Welcome!

The Health Department serves as a key health agency responsible for health promotion and disease prevention services for the City and County of Grand Forks, North Dakota.

The Department provides: Administrative, Environmental Health, Mosquito Control, Nursing, and Nutrition programs and services.

The programs and services encompass health protection, health promotion, community needs assessment, health policy development, disease control, emergency response, and disaster recovery.

We educate the public to immunize infants and children, drink safe water, eat safe food, buckle up, place infants in safety seats, breast feed your baby, and be a non-smoker. In addition, we provide nuisance control assistance with mosquito control, junk in yards, and rubbish in the community. We are also continually inspecting and monitoring community water and food supplies.

Our staff of nurses, environmental health practitioners, dietitians, mosquito control, and administrative professionals collaborates with other local, state and federal agencies to deliver these programs and services.
