1. Purpose

A board to be known as the "city plumbing board" is hereby created for the purpose of licensing plumbers and to adopt rules and regulations to govern the installation of plumbing equipment and to ensure the safety of life and property within the City of Grand Forks.

2. Members; Terms

The board shall consist of the city engineer, the city plumbing inspector who shall serve as executive secretary and three (3) other members to be appointed by the city council for a period of two (2) years each, or until their successors are appointed and qualified.
The term of office of the three (3) appointive members shall expire on the same day as now prescribed for the expiration of terms of the appointive officers in the city. The three (3) members appointed shall consist of two (2) master plumbers with at least five (5) years' practical experience and one (1) journeyman plumber with at least five (5) years' practical experience.

3. Duties

The city plumbing board shall select from its members a chair, adopt rules and regulations to govern the installation of plumbing, prepare examination tests, conduct examinations, issue licenses to persons qualified or who pass the prescribed tests and examinations, and otherwise manage its affairs to ensure and promote the safety of life and property within the City of Grand Forks. If the city plumbing inspector requires an examination, the fee shall be fifteen dollars ($15.00) for either a master or journeyman.

The National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) is established at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) and is the world’s leading academic research institution in addressing sports safety and security risks and threats. NCS4 is partially underwritten by grants from the United States Department of Homeland Security and functions with the ambitious mission of conducting innovative research, provide training, enhance professional development, and assess security solutions to support the advancement of safety and security throughout the world.

The research and educational mission of NCS4 is accomplished by working in close partnership with industry professionals, researchers and academics, and national and international government agencies to develop and deploy practical performance improvement tools and applications that bolster the capacity of practitioners to respond effectively to the current and future safety and security challenges and issues.

Sport Event Risk Management

Description

The Sport Event Risk Management course is designed to build sport and special event risk management

capabilities for community-wide collaboration and mitigation. Through activity-based training modules, safety

and security teams will increase their knowledge of planning, risk assessment, training, and continuous

improvement practices. The expectation is for participants to return to their respective sport venues and

coordinate the development or enhancement of a sport event security management system.
