GF Website Reaches 1,000,000 Page Views
Grand Forks, ND – Grand Forks, ND – The City of Grand Forks website, www.grandforksgov.com, surpassed 1,000,000 page views for 2019 a little before 4 pm today. This marks the first time the City website has reached the 1,000,000 page view threshold in a calendar year.
The top five most viewed pages in 2019 to date are “Flood Fight”, “Job Openings”, “Police Department”, “Bus Schedules” and “Utility Bill Payment”. The “Flood Fight” page had a total of 46,345 page views with the most views on April 8, 2019, the day the Sorlie Bridge closed due to spring flooding.
“This benchmark and specifically where people are going to most really demonstrate the City’s website is the ‘reliable go-to’ for City information,” said Mayor Michael R. Brown, “and it shows we are effectively meeting the increasing need for residents to get things done online like planning bus rides, paying bills and finding a job.”
During development, the City designed the site to be more mobile friendly, reflective of the increase in mobile users (8% since 2016). The site has seen more mobile users (52%) than desktop users (48%) so far in 2019, which marks the first time that mobile users surpass desktop users in a given year.
An interdepartmental team of city employees worked with Granicus to develop the current City website that was launched in March 2019.
