University Ave. Rehabilitation

Grand Forks, ND – University Ave. from N. 3rd St. to State St. will be going through a rehabilitation project this summer.  The rehab project will include a Mill & Overlay to resurface the road and installing ADA curb ramps on the sidewalk along University Ave.

 

The ADA curb ramp work will begin on Monday, May 18, 2020.  The ADA curb ramp installation will involve closures of the side streets at University Ave.  The ADA curb ramp installation will be done in 3 phases.

 

Phase 1 will include the closure of all even‐numbered intersecting streets from North 25th Street to North Washington Street along University Avenue.  North 12th Street and North 7th Street will be closed on the north side of University Avenue and North 9th Street will be closed on the south side of University Avenue.

 

Phase 2 will include the closure of all odd‐numbered intersecting streets from North 25th Street to North Washington Street along University Avenue. North 12th Street and North 7th Street will be closed on the south side of University Avenue and North 9th Street will be closed on the north side of University Avenue.

 

Phase 3 will include the closure of North 4th Street, North 6th Street, North 8th Street, and North 10th Street. North 11th Street on the north side of University Avenue will also be closed.

 

The ADA curb ramp installation is expected to be completed by the end of September.

 

The Mill & Overlay portion of this project will happen later this summer.  The City of Grand Forks will announce the schedule of the resurfacing when it becomes available.
