The City of Grand Forks is proud to partner with Gate City Bank to revitalize mature neighborhoods by helping homeowners make repairs and home improvements at a low interest rate.

The loan program offers:

• Repayment options of 10 or 15 years with an APR as low as 4.49%*
• $10,000-$100,000 projects
• Maximum loan-to-value 90%

*Terms and conditions may apply. A $50,000 home equity loan at a 4.49% interest rate for 120 monthly payments of $517.95 will have a 4.49% annual percentage rate.

Properties must be:

• Within City of Grand Forks municipal boundaries
• Zoned Residential and outside of 100-year flood plain
• Owner-occupied single family attached or detached units. 
• Current on property taxes and special assessments
• Current assessed property value of $400,000 or less

Projects must include at least one of the following: 

• Foundation work (drain tile, bracing)
• Siding, roofing, windows, or other major exterior upgrades
  • Garages must meet zoning code requirements for allowable square footage. Projects requiring variance requests for larger square footage will be ineligible
• Addition of bedroom or new living space
  • Must meet the zoning requirements for allowable performance standards (i.e., setbacks, impervious coverage, square footage)
• Major interior remodeling (i.e., kitchen remodel, bathroom remodel)
• Replacement of major mechanical systems (furnace, electrical system, plumbing)
• Convert rental unit to owner-occupied
• Radon Mitigation
