The City of Grand Forks licenses business that wish to operate as an Animal Kennel.

Grand Forks City Code 11-0101 (2) defines a dog kennel as "any building or fenced area where dogs are kept for breeding, for sale, for medical care, for training, or for boarding.  Any building or fenced area where five (5) or more dogs, six (6) months or older, are kept for an individual's own use shall be considered a kennel under this article. 

The Animal Kennel License Application is submitted to the Finance and Administrative Services Department, located on 1st Floor of City Hall, 255 N 4th Street.  The license will require inspection and approval by the Health Department prior to issuance. 

The license is an annual license running from January 1 to December 31 of each year.  The annual fee is $25.
