Training offers many teaching and learning opportunities for all of our firefighters. Our training facility at the Public Safety Center has everything to fulfill our training needs. We ensure that our firefighters are trained to handle any situation that comes their way. Training exercises at the GFFD include ladder drills, live burns, multi-company suppression drills, water and ice rescue, fire apparatus placement and operations, rope rescue skills, hazardous material response, and much more.

Thanks to Interstate Towing and Recovery LLC, we get damaged vehicles to use for our auto extrication training. We collaborate with the Police Department in preparation for multi-agency responses to other large safety incidents and work hand in hand with Altru Health System for emergency medical response within our community.
