Officer Cody Holte
End of Watch: Wednesday, May 27, 2020
Police Officer Cody Holte was shot and killed while responding to a call for emergency assistance resulting from shots fired after an attempt to serve eviction-related paperwork.
Officer Cody Holte was a 3 year and 3 month veteran of the GFPD, and a member of the Grand Forks Sheriff’s Office Regional Water Rescue Team. In addition Holte enlisted in the Army Reserve in 2010, he later commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the N.D. Army National Guard in 2015, where he served until the time of his death.
Holte leaves behind his wife and infant son, and we ask that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers
Officer Robert Martin End of Watch: October 12, 1966
Police Officer Robert Martin succumbed to injuries received in a motorcycle crash when a car turned in front of him while he was on patrol at 10:15 pm.
The crash occurred while Officer Martin was driving on 2nd Avenue North and the other vehicle attempted to turn into a driveway. He was transported to St. Michael's Hospital where he died later in the evening.
Officer Martin had served with the Grand Forks Police Department for two years and had previously served with the Williston Police Department.
Cody Holte Memorial Fund
The Grand Forks Police Department would like to announce the creation of a memorial fund in Officer Cody Holte’s name. The fund will be accessible only by Officer Holte’s family, and is sanctioned and affirmed as such by the Grand Forks Police Department.
