CALEA Accreditation Assessment

The Grand Forks Police Department is in a four year schedule for an assessment as part of a program to achieve accreditation by verifying it meets professional standards.

Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

As part of the assessment process, members of the community are invited to offer comments regarding the Department’s compliance with CALEA standards, engagement in the service community, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accredited status. These comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns.

Individuals may submit written comments by either submitting comments on CALEA’s Accreditation Pubic Comment Portal for the Grand Forks Police Department at http://cimrs2.calea.org/650 or by mailing comments to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc, 13575 Heathcote Boulevard, Suite 160, Gainesville, Virginia 20155.
