Wastewater Collection System 


Mission Statement

To provide efficient and effective maintenance and repair in a manner to protect public health, while following State and Federal regulations.

Department Objectives

  • Maintain the wastewater collection system in a cost efficient manner.
  • Rehabilitate a minimum of two stations a year in order to keep rates on a slow increase. 


Wastewater Analysis 

Effective 9/14/15 the City of Grand Forks will be combining the Wastewater Treatment Plant Lab with the Environmental Lab at 503 South 4th Street for both water and wastewater analysis.

Clients that were using the Wastewater Treatment Plant Lab can now bring their samples to the Environmental Lab at 503 South 4th Street.  The Environmental Lab has been certified by the North Dakota Department of Health for both water and wastewater analysis.  The certified parameters remain the same.

To treat the wastewater of Grand Forks to effluent quality standards that meet or exceed the clean water standards put forth by federal, state and local government agencies. 


Department Objectives

To meet effluent quality standards in a manner that demonstrates integrity, responsibility, safety, and economically-sound practices.
