2025 Sewer System Cleaning

This year, the Grand Forks Wastewater Department will be cleaning the sewer system area indicated in the map below:

The work will not affect most homeowners or cause any disruption to service. The sewer cleaning process uses a high-pressure water jet to scour the pipes. When the jet passes by your home's sewer connections, it creates a wave of water and air. This wave can push out or pull in the water and air held inside your homes plumbing and traps causing minor spills, noise, and odor.

What to Expect:

There is a small chance that spills, noise, and odors may occur within your home. If you experience any of these issues, we advise you run water through the affected fixtures to refill the trips.
