• Address of your property
• For payoffs – the date that you will have the payoff in our office. 

Payments can be made:

• Over the phone with a credit or debit card
• by mail for check or money order payments.  Mailing address is Finance Department, PO Box 5200, Grand Forks, ND 58206-5200.  Please enclose a note stating that the enclosed payment is for special assessments and the address of the property that you are making a payment on.
• By placing the payment in the utility billing drop box in the parking lot adjacent to city hall.  Please enclose a note stating that the payment is for special assessments and the address of the property you are making a payment on.

All applications for Homestead Credit, Disabled Veterans Credit, and exemptions should be mailed to Assessing Office (255 N. 4th St.).  You may drop off the applications in the Utility Billing drop box located on main floor of City Hall.  If you have questions when dropping your application off, you will be asked to call the Assessing office and a member of the Assessing office will meet you on the first floor.

The City has scheduled the annual City Board of Equalization meeting for April 6, 2020 in the City Council Chambers.  This meeting is required by state law.  In light of the circumstances with COVID-19, we do not want people to appeal in person at this meeting.   We want people to know that anyone wishing to appeal a value for the 2020 tax year is encouraged to do so in writing or over the phone.  All  written and phone appeals will be treated as if you appeared at the meeting in person.  Written appeals can be sent to phoudek@grandforksgov.com or mailed to PO Box 5200, Grand Forks, ND  58206.  Appeals should be submitted before 5:00 pm on Monday April 6, 2020.  If you wish to appeal by phone, please call the Assessing Department at 701-746-2611.   All appeals must be received by 5pm on Monday, April 6, 2020.
